DESCRIPTION:On Friday 26 June at 17.00, an Artist Talk with the KCCC resident Beáta Kolbašovská, an artist from Slovakia, will take place at the Exhibition Hall of the Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre (KCCC), Didžioji Vandens g. 2.\nDuring the talk, Beáta will present her previous projects and the project she is currently working on in Klaipėda. During her residency she has been intensively exploring the city of Klaipėda, and at the event she will convey what she has seen and felt through the visual arts. Her artistic video works are currently on view in the KCCC Fachwerk hall.\nBeáta Kolbašovská creates site-specific installations, live visuals, multimedia performances, VJing (video jockeying), video projections, 3D animation and video installations.\nAs a VJ, she creates live visuals in real time, focusing above all on public spaces and the atmosphere of each moment.\nShe is interested in ecology, public space, historical memory and thought processes, constantly looks for opportunities to collaborate and for resonance with the world and with people, and experiments through sensitive observation of the world. Each audiovisual installation is created in response to the unique atmosphere of the place.\nBeáta is the founder of the visual art collective “Nano VJs” and of the platform “POMA” (Platform of Open Media Art). She turns public spaces into dynamic canvases. In this process, in order to encourage experimental artistic practice, she also collaborates with other artists, musicians, performers and researchers.\n“Eternity does not mean that we escape from time. In eternity we dwell in the complete present. I invite you to experience atmospheric slowness: to see what we usually overlook, to feel the connection with one another and with the environment.
