From 24 April to 21 June Klaipėda will host the Book Art Festival, organised for the fifth time by the Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre (KCCC). The festival will feature exhibitions, creative workshops for all age groups, guided tours, educational sessions and a residency exchange programme between Klaipėda and Malmö, Sweden.
In 2026 the Book Art Festival is dedicated to illustration. An illustration can accompany a text, complement it or expand it, but it also works on its own – without words. It is a broad creative field spanning many forms – from books, comics and posters to animation, which often grows out of books – and the festival will aim to present, creatively test out and experience all of them.
