Creative photography workshop “Portraits of the Klaipėda Region” with the artist Audronius Žemgulis
On 15 January we mark Klaipėda Region Day — a special date in the history and identity of our city — and so on Thursday 15 January at 13.00 we invite you to a unique creative wet collodion photography workshop, a live photo session, with the photographic artist and KCCC Art Yard resident Audronius Žemgulis.
This day comes once a year and reminds us of the times a hundred years ago, and so on 15 January Audronius will photograph the people of Klaipėda and the city’s guests using a nineteenth-century technique — wet collodion — in which a portrait appears on glass before your very eyes through the synthesis of silver and light. It is a slow, ritual process in which every portrait becomes an unrepeatable sign of history — a small, silver-gleaming postcard from the past.
Let us mark Klaipėda Region Day together by creating memories that will last.
The workshop is free of charge. Registration is required; you will find the link here.
Time: Thursday 15 January, 13.00
Venue: the Art Yard workshops, Daržų g. 10, Klaipėda.
Please note that participants may appear in photographs and video recordings of the event published in various media.
