Creative workshop “The Return of Light” with the photographer Audronius Žemgulis
On Sunday 29 March at 13.00, the creative workshop “The Return of Light” with the photographic artist Audronius Žemgulis will take place at the KCCC Art Yard, Daržų g. 10.
In March the light returns and a new beginning arrives. In the creative workshop “The Return of Light” we will create portraits using the wet collodion technique, letting the spring light become the main protagonist of the composition. With a penetrating eye we will explore the contrasts and shadows of light, silence, simplicity and history.
The portraits may be classical or more creative — with chosen accessories, textures or a personal style. You may bring a symbolic object, a fabric or a small sign of spring that will become part of the composition. This is a chance to create a distinctive, affecting portrait in a historical aesthetic, recorded on glass.
The wet collodion process is slow and demands concentration, but it allows you to live through a genuine moment of being present. Photographing with an authentic nineteenth-century technique, every participant will be able to watch the whole process by which an ambrotype comes into being, and will take away a unique glass portrait — like a sign of the beginning of spring.
These workshops are about renewal and about the light that returns.
The workshop is subject to a charge. Tickets are sold by Bilietai.lt. Ticket link: view tickets.
Please note that participants may appear in photographs and video recordings of the event published in various media.
