GUIDED TOUR AND ARTIST TALK WITH ARTIST ANA DE ALMEIDA
We invite you to a meeting with one of the authors of the exhibition “Lifting the Weight of Importance” Ana De Almeida. The event will take place on March 18 (Wednesday) at 6:00 PM at the KKKC Exhibition Hall. During the event, the artist will give a short guided tour of the exhibition, followed by a conversation in English with Juta Kiude.
Ana de Almeida (b.1987) is an artist and author based between Lisbon and Vienna. Her practice explores the politics of memory, archival methodologies, and the intersection of personal and collective histories. Often working with photography, text, video, installation, and performance, a central focus of her work lies in activating vernacular archives to reflect on revolutionary desire, transmission of resistance, and the shaping of political subjectivities.
Ana de Almeida’s work has been exhibited at institutions such as Camera Austria, Kunsthalle Wien, Belvedere 21, MNAC and MAAT in Lisbon, Serralves Foundation in Porto, ICA Yerevan, CSULA Los Angeles, Tabakalera in Donostia/San Sebastián, House of Arts Ústí nad Labem and GHMP Prague. She is a recipient of the Austrian State Grant for Media Arts and the BES Revelação Art Prize and her works are part of several public and private collections.
