Opening of the exhibition “Western Winds 26/Frequency”

On Friday 3 July at 17.30, the joint exhibition Western Winds 26/Frequency by the Klaipėda branch of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association (LDS) opens at the Exhibition Hall of the Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre (KCCC), Didžioji Vandens g. 2, presenting the latest works by professional artists of the Western Lithuania region. The exhibition runs until 30 August.

The exhibition is organised every two years on the biennial principle. More than fifty members of the Klaipėda branch of the LDS from Klaipėda, Palanga, Neringa, Telšiai, Gargždai and other towns of Western Lithuania present their work in it. With this exhibition, the Klaipėda branch of the LDS seeks to present to the public the visual art processes and changes of style in the region over the past two to three years.

The joint exhibition features works of various genres — from painting, sculpture, graphic art and small-scale plastic art to interdisciplinary and applied art. The main axis of this year’s exhibition is FREQUENCY.

This project seeks to capture and reveal the creative pulse of Klaipėda’s artists — the transformations of their ideas and expression. The colour range and forms of the display undulate as naturally as the tides, giving meaning to the constant transformation of the authors’ thoughts.

The exhibition is funded by Klaipėda City Municipality, the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Lithuanian Artists’ Association.

Opening hours of the KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens g. 2, Klaipėda): Wednesday–Sunday 11.00–19.00 (closed on public holidays). Please note that participants may appear in photographs and video recordings of the event published in various media. Admission to the exhibition is free on the opening day; afterwards there is a charge.
