Summer art camp and workshops in Klaipėda for children aged 7–12

From 7 to 30 July, at the Exhibition Hall of the Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre (KCCC) (Didžioji Vandens g. 2), in the very heart of Klaipėda Old Town, a summer day camp and workshop takes place for children aged 7 to 12, where young artists can express themselves through painting, printmaking and sculpture, and spend their summer mornings well in bright artistic surroundings.

Throughout July the KCCC Exhibition Hall turns into a real base for art explorers, where young makers are met by the secrets of the sea, creative discoveries and plenty of unexpected artistic adventures. Inspired by the exhibition “Western Winds ’26”, the children will explore the rhythms of the waves, the traces of the wind and the colours of the seaside, and create their own unique worlds of art.

Programme:

Day 1 — SCULPTURE

Out of modelling clay we will bring to life fantastic fish, sea monsters and underwater treasures, fished up from the depths of the imagination.

Day 2 — PAINTING

We will paint sea worlds large and small: from stormy waves painted with a palette knife to colourful sea creatures.

Day 3 — PRINTMAKING

We will turn linocut into a real creative adventure — making wave signs, seaside symbols and prints of our own.

During the camp and workshops children will not only learn the basics of art but also search for their own creative handwriting, developing their imagination and the courage to make things their own way. Unexpected artistic discoveries, games and gifts await! There is no need to “know how to draw” — what matters most is curiosity, imagination and a wish to discover.
