Family tour of “Western Winds ’26 / Frequency” with Ignas Kazakevičius

On Thursday 23 July at 16.00, the Exhibition Hall of the Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre (KCCC) at Didžioji Vandens g. 2 hosts a guided tour of the exhibition “Western Winds ’26 / Frequency” with the art critic Ignas Kazakevičius, designed for children aged 8–14 and their families.

We invite children and their parents on an enjoyable journey of discovery through the exhibition “Western Winds 26 / Frequency”. This will not be an ordinary tour — together we will hunt for the most mysterious works, and learn to “read” pictures, to recognise colours, forms, materials and the artists’ intentions.

Why does one work seem quiet and another very loud? How can wood, clay or metal tell a story? Why do artists sometimes paint not what they see but what they feel?

During the tour children will be invited to observe, compare, guess and discuss. Through play and conversation we will get to know contemporary art, discover the most interesting works in the exhibition and see that a museum is a place not only for looking but also for being curious, asking questions and making discoveries.
This tour is for families who want to share the joy of discovering art and to see that every work hides more than one story.

Ignas Kazakevičius has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2001. He works in the cultural field as a curator and producer of art and cultural events and creative-industry projects, and as an expert on artistic processes. He has written more than 300 critical, analytical and review articles on art, culture and other subjects.
