Paint Palette Experiment

The aim of the session is to introduce the different paints and drawing materials used in professional art. During the session we will visit the exhibitions on display at the Exhibition Hall and discuss which paints and materials the artists used, and then try them out ourselves, creating pictures of our own choosing! Our experimental palette will hold the most common paints — acrylic, gouache, tempera, oil, watercolour and pastel — so we will discuss the main differences between them and try to work out how an artist chooses the palette that suits them.
